Interior decoration by Knoblauch Design one of the speakers at the creative track at PID 2018 copyInterior decoration by Knoblauch Design one of the speakers at the creative track at PID 2018It’s only weeks until the second edition of the Printed Interior Decoration conference. Participants from Europe, Asia and the USA learn and network about the latest solutions for home textiles, wallpapers, glass walls, laminated floorings, wooden panels, carpets, building and mobile interiors.

“Large format printing and industrial inkjet in general have been increasingly stimulating the trend of developing printed products for interior decoration, as well as personalisation of design items. The trend has expanded in the professional environment and found its way into shops, bars, hotels, offices and other commercial areas. It employs digital printing technology for creating series of unique designs on wood, glass, textiles and other materials,” says Peter Buttiens, CEO of ESMA. “In that context, we invite technology suppliers, as well as printers, interior designers, shop fitters and architects to PID 2018.”

Printed Interior Decoration will discuss topics ranging from substrates, workflow and pre-press, through printing systems, inks and finishing, to regulations and case studies, not only from suppliers but all involved in the creative process, including designers and print service providers. Some of the papers submitted for the main conference track include:

Keynote speeches are delivered by representatives of the academic world, including Prof. Kislaya Choudhary from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Prof. Hitoshi Ujiie from Jefferson University and Prof. Marc Van Parys from Unitex/TexZeppelin. Prof. Angelika Rösner from Hochschule Niederrhein presents at the creative track, next to the textile designer Katharina Jebsen, Caroline Zöller from visual communication agency Forteam Kommunikation, Andreas Weidner from Knoblauch Design, Debbie McKeegan from the digital textile consultancy Texintel, Carl Huijskens from Incatro Room Acoustics and Jörg Stein from Comexpo, one of the Antalis Interior Design Award winners.

The conference opens in the morning of the 5th and closes in the afternoon of the 6th of June. Delegates can now register online for 595 EUR. Reduced fees are granted to ESMA members (495 EUR), print service providers (295 EUR), designers, architects and academics (195 EUR) – all prices are subject to 19% VAT.

It employs digital printing technology for creating series of unique designs on wood, glass, textiles and other materials,” says Peter Buttiens, CEO of ESMA (European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association), conference organiser. “On one hand, it is driven by economical aspects resulting in imitation of expensive materials such as exotic wood types or wall decoration techniques such as frescos and murals. On the other hand, we witness a returning demand for the use of large scale pictures as wallpaper or ceiling covers, only now they can be produced in the finest quality, meeting visual expectations, light fastness requirements and the overall end user demands. In that context, we invite both technology suppliers, as well as printers, interior designers, shop fitters and architects to PID 2018.”

Printed Interior Decoration will discuss topics ranging from substrates, workflow and pre-press, through printing systems, inks and finishing, to regulations and case studies, not only from suppliers but all involved in the creative process, including designers and print service providers.
