ESMA was founded in 1990 as the European association of screen printing equipment manufacturers. In 2000 we offered membership to companies manufacturing machinery and consumables for the digital imaging process and since 2012 we welcome consultants and print services providers. Today, ESMA’s focus lies on all industrial, functional and specialised printing applications, as well as graphic applications that lead to disruptive developments in printed interior decoration, printed electronics, plastics (IMD and FIM), textiles and glass.
ESMA's objectives are to promote adoption and correct use of various specialist printing processes. This mission is realised on multiple conferences (The Inkjet Conference, Direct Container Print, GlassPrint, Advanced Functional & Industrial Printing, Printed Interior Decoration) and during ESMA Academy courses which deliver technical knowledge and understanding in order to enhance the leading market position of the European printing industry. Further activities include involvement in academic projects and research of niche markets (POLEOT, CLIP, EURATEX).
With over 70 manufacturer members (representing machinery, equipment, software and consumables sectors) and Technology Partners (consultants, printers, resellers, developers), ESMA has become the Knowledge Hub of the industry. The know-how exchange takes place during educational events, workshops and in two committees: Health, Safety & Environmental Protection Committee and Technology, Applications and Marketing Activities Committee. Partners and members receive support and advice regarding business trends and solutions, legislation and they all participate in setting industry standards. Every ESMA member enjoys advantageous terms at major trade shows (drupa, FESPA, glasstec, K e.a.) and ESMA’s own conferences.
