O&PM Europa, ideeGO and K-Flow Consulting, are thrilled to announce the debut of their groundbreaking LabelSaver inkjet development concept with a robotic handling system at Drupa 2024 in Düsseldorf. This innovative system marks a significant advancement in digital printing technology, offering unparalleled capabilities for printing on non-porous substrates directly to shape using both aqueous and UV curable inks.

The LabelSaver represents a collaborative effort between three industry-leading companies, harnessing the expertise of K-Flow Consulting in process development, O&PM Europa in aqueous primers, and ideeGO in inkjet integration. This synergy has resulted in a cutting-edge solution that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in digital printing.

One of the key features of the LabelSaver is its ability to print aqueous inks onto non-porous substrates coated with a primer with remarkable precision. Additionally, the machine is demonstrated printing UV curable topcoats for embossing effects, further expanding its versatility and applications.

This state-of-the-art system incorporates the latest technological advancements from industry leaders. It employs nIR units from Lambda Technology, printheads from Seiko Instruments, electronics and image processing software from Meteor, ink supply systems from Neatjet, and UV curing units from IST Intec. All these companies contributed to the LabelSaver as part of their joint participation in the ESMA pavilion. The inks for the live demonstration are provided by Siegwerk. This amalgamation of top-tier components ensures exceptional performance and reliability.

A highlight of the LabelSaver inkjet machine is its utilization of a revolutionary primer developed by O&PM Europa. This primer fixates and cures the aqueous inks instantly, enabling seamless printing directly onto shaped articles. This groundbreaking approach eliminates the need for traditional labelling methods, opening up new possibilities for customisation, efficiency and sustainability.

The LabelSaver is not just a one-size-fits-all solution. Its modular design allows for customization with different printheads and peripherals, article transportation options, cylindrical, flat or conical printing, as well as the use of various inks tailored to the specific requirements of the article being printed. This adaptability ensures that the machine can meet the diverse needs of various industries and applications.

During drupa 2024, the LabelSaver will be demonstrated live on the IPI Inkjet Print Platform, part of the ESMA industrial pavilion in hall 3 (booth D81-8). Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the capabilities of this revolutionary technology during live demonstrations and explore its potential applications across different sectors.

"We are excited to unveil the LabelSaver development concept at drupa 2024," said Dursun Acun from O&PM Europa, Christian Göbel from ideeGO and Oliver Kammann from K-Flow Consulting. "This collaborative effort represents a significant milestone in digital printing technology, offering unprecedented applications for aqueous and UV inks, flexibility, and sustainability. We look forward to showcasing the machine's disruptive capabilities and engaging with industry professionals to explore new possibilities to develop this concept into highly productive machines."
