TheIJC 2016 unveils the extensive conference agenda

Leuven, 12th September 2016 – With less than a month to go, The Inkjet Conference (TheIJC) confirms the most involving agenda in the event’s history. Over 50 presentations, 6 workshop sessions and countless networking opportunities at almost 70 tabletops will fill the Swissotel in Düsseldorf/Neuss on 4-6 October 2016 and engage hundreds of developers, technologists, researchers, innovation managers and decision makers.

TheIJC is organised for the third time by ESMA, sponsored by MS Italy and developed in partnership with drupa. “drupa has supported TheIJC since its inauguration in 2014 and since then we observe how the core technology and know-how presented at the conference evolve into world leading digital presses displayed at drupa. We see all aspects of print and pre-press evolving into a single system. Breakthroughs in chemistry evolve into new ink sets, advances in computer science improve image quality, new image inspection systems create opportunities for functionality and control. And of course inkjet printheads are still at the core of digital print and here we see new product launches and better understanding of integration”, says Steve Knight, co-founder of TheIJC.

Whilst “drupa 2016 – touch the future” is behind us, the innovation cycle turns further at the conference which is open to all those looking to build the future: engineers, scientists, leading equipment manufacturers from various industries. This year, significantly high numbers of new players decided to join TheIJC and gain a glimpse of the new era of digital printing. One-fourth of the tabletops has been booked by first-time exhibitors, including Barbieri Electronic, Baumer Inspection, Clariant, Crown Van Gelder, DPS Innovations, Inca Digital, KIWO, Megnajet, Nazdar, Netzsch, RJA Dispersions, Smithers Pira, STS Inks, Techkon and Velvet Jet. Simultaneously, almost 60% of the delegates registered so far have never attended the conference before – they will represent companies such as Bühler Group, Cadis, Comexi, DELO Industrial Adhesives, Jindal Films, Nilpeter, Sinocolors, TechNova, Todeschini and many others.

TheIJC 2016 starts already on the 4th of October with a series of inkjet workshops chaired by industry experts and renowned researchers. Last workshop places are still available for all conference delegates who won’t delay their booking. The six hands-on session are organised around following topics: introduction to inkjet, waveform tuning, colour management, functional fluids, speciality effects in textiles and inkjet in packaging.

The conference part opens on 5th of October with presentations by Sean Smyth (“Inkjet market developments in print and packaging”) and Jane List (“10 things you should know about patents”) on two parallel tracks. Altogether 52 highly technical talks will take place during two days, in sessions separated by networking breaks, among others – the exquisite networking dinner at the end of day one. Focusing on all aspects of inkjet engineering and inkjet chemistry, the programme offers presentations on printheads, inks and lab equipment, integration, inspection, software and electronics, curing and drying, as well as intellectual property. Core inkjet technology is adopted for different industries and therefore a number of experts on packaging, textiles, additive manufacturing and microelectronic components will present, as well.
