The General Assembly of our association has brought about several new ideas which materialise quickly and to the benefit of the entire printing community. One of them is the brand new ESMA Academy with its first course on industrial digital printing. Below you will find more details about the Academy, as well as an update on other ESMA educational events in 2017. Have we raised your interest? In cooperation with Fraunhofer IPA and Hochschule der Medien, ESMA launches the brand new Academy project to offer basis know-how and certified hands-on training in industrial printing techniques. The first course is offered in German, focuses on inkjet and takes place on 3-6 July 2017 at Fraunhofer IPA facilities in Stuttgart.

For the first time, the yearly General Assembly of ESMA, the European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association, took place in Lisbon. On 23-24th March 2017, member companies came together for the 27th GA to set future goals, elect a new chairman, vice-chairman and an Honourable Ambassador, as well as to network with the Portuguese printing community.

In Europe, nanomaterials are covered by REACH and CLP. ECHA says they are able to carry out their tasks within the various REACH and CLP processes for nanoforms as it would for any other form of a substance. As a result, in 2016 the European Commission has rejected the idea of an EU nano registry. Instead ECHA will set up a website that will be named “nano observatory”. It will collect, analyse and review available information from a wide range of sources...

We are pleased to announce the return of ESMA Football Tournament. The last edition, held in September 2015, brought together six member teams and in the end it was Lechler who could take the shiny cup home. This year, the incumbent champions can be challenged by even more teams, as the games will be played in a 5-a-side system.

From 29 May to 1 June 2018 a brand new industry event will take place at Fiera Milano. Print4All brings together three historic trade shows: Grafitalia, Converflex and Inprinting and goes beyond the traditional segmentation of commercial, editorial and industrial printing. ESMA will be present at Print4All and our members will enjoy exhibitor discounts.
