Industrial Print in Production (IPP) conference launches call for papersESMA is preparing a brand new conference – “Industrial Printing in Production” (IPP), with FESPA as our partner for this event. The inaugural edition will take place on 7-9 March 2017 in Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg.
At this stage we are finalising the conference programme, as well as the accompanying tabletop exhibition area of 40-50 stands. Winter School “Functional Coatings: Materials, Deposition and Applications”Flemish Doctoral Schools organise a three-day winter school about functional coatings on 28-30 November 2016 at Hasselt University, Belgium. During the course, contemporary topics in ink and coating chemistry and functional coating engineering are covered by international experts and by doctoral students. The winter school is directed to PhD students and postdocs, specifically those active in functional coatings or debating to start with functional coating research and development.

“Get Smart in Print Media Business” 2017For the second time, the Belgian printing magazine “Grafisch Nieuws” organises the “Get Smart” event for printers, finishing companies and all entrepreneurs from the graphical sector. New is the event’s expansion to the print and sign market. Next to the strong networking part at several dozen tabletops, "Get Smart" features keynote speeches from industry leaders. In parallel sessions they present topics ranging from technological to marketing aspects of the industry.

The Inkjet Conference confirms dates for 2017After three successful editions, The Inkjet Conference (TheIJC) has established itself as the world’s biggest event dedicated to inkjet engineering and inkjet chemistry. The conference attracts now more than 400 attendees – suppliers, OEM’s, integrators, developers, brand owners and researchers. 131 companies sent delegates to this year’s edition and out of 66 exhibitors, one-fourth came with a tabletop for the first time.

“Smart Printing Solutions” with free access for ESMA membersPeter Buttiens from ESMA will be one of the speakers at the seminar “Smart Printing Solutions” held on 17 November 2016 in Maarssen, The Netherlands. This is the second edition of the event organised by CMBO and “Printmedianieuws” magazine. Presentations coming i.a. from TNO Holst, Leonhard Kurz Stiftung and Trapped in Suburbia will focus on the integration of smart solutions and interaction in printing processes, such as smart labels, sensors or holography. “Hightech printing technology” day in AntwerpVIGC, the Flemish Centre for Graphic Innovation, organises a series of presentations introducing different aspects of functional printing on 25 November 2016 at AP University College in Antwerp. Research institutes, suppliers and manufacturers give expert talks on development, concept, production and recycling of functional printing. Speaker list includes Agfa, Hasselt University, Metafas, Meyer Burger, Quad Industries and University of Ljubljana. Looking back at ESMA pavilions at glasstec and KIndustrial and functional printing showcased at ESMA pavilions received plenty of attention during the two major shows in autumn 2016. Ten member companies presented their potential for glass decoration and three members joined our pavilion at the world’s premier fair for the plastics and rubber industry. We can now look back at two very busy exhibitions which raised huge interest for printing technologies and for ESMA’s activities in general.
