DCP and GlassPrint – culmination of the conference year 2015

pic esmaESMA closes 2015 with two ‘back-to-back’ events: The very first Direct Container Print and the sixth edition of GlassPrint. Limited delegate spaces are still available.

Direct Container Print (23-24. November 2015) will open with the keynote speech by Florian Lauterbach presenting Krones Decotype – the future of container decoration by digital direct printing. Further 17 presentations will follow and focus on low migration inks, substrate requirements, computer-to-screen, UV curing but also on the role of innovative packaging in brand enhancement and engagement. Some of the industry experts attending the conference will join the panel discussion to answer the questions coming from delegates.

The live panel discussion focussing on the key issues affecting the current and future market, will also enter the programme of GlassPrint 2015, the successful and unique European conference dedicated to glass decoration. GlassPrint takes place in direct connection to DCP, on 25-26 November 2015, and features 22 presentations. The programme, covering the latest screen and digital technology for decorating not only hollow glass but architectural and automotive too, already attracted registrations from industry leaders at Allied Glass, Deco Glas, Bormioli Luigi, InBev, NSG, O-I, PSL, Rastal, Sahm, Schott, Sisecam and many more.

Both Direct Container Print and GlassPrint are organised in cooperation with Chameleon Business Media,  publisher of ESMA sponsored magazines “Glass Worldwide” and “Specialist Printing Worldwide”.

DCP and GlassPrint take place at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Düsseldorf, Germany. Delegate registration is available at www.dcp2015.org and www.glassprint.org

AFIP returns in March 2016

pic afipWe are approaching the third edition of Advanced Functional and Industrial Printing which will bring together printers, manufacturers and engineers on 2-3 March 2016 in Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Advanced Functional and Industrial Printing is a unique European conference with such a broad view on industrial printing including printed electronics, film insert moulding (FIM), in-mould decoration (IMD), label and membrane switches, touch panels and screen sensors, printed batteries and industrial fascia.

NFC, Bluetooth, RFID, flexible PTC – all these technologies are increasingly employing printing in the manufacturing process of their electronic components. The variety of presentation subjects during AFIP 2016 will reach from flexible and washable conductive inks, flexible keyboards to the latest printed batteries, radar sensors and combinations of PE and FIM/IMD for automotive or home appliances. With the support of leading screen and digital manufacturers, AFIP has become the umbrella event with the broadest approach to speciality print applications and successfully continues to educate about print in production.

The call for papers is open until 30th November 2015. Agfa, CST, Global Inkjet Systems, Grünig/SignTronic, KIWO,  MacDermid Autotype, Printcolor and Pröll are among those who already confirmed their support for the conference.

Delegate booking with early bird rates valid until 31.12.2015 is now available at www.afip2016.org

TheIJC 2015 grows 40% and plans even bigger for 2016

pic ijcWith 285 new visitors and almost 400 participants in total, The Inkjet Conference 2015 has by far broken the record of the last year’s edition. But it is not all about quantity, as the quality and content of 49 presentations have been widely commented as “inspirational” and “stimulating”. Two days and two tracks of technical talks have packed tight the presentation rooms and sixty tabletops have turned into a perfect networking arena which continued during the networking dinner on day 1.

As a huge number of delegates declares their participation for next year, the dates for TheIJC 2016 are already set: 5-6 October 2016 in Swissôtel Neuss. Early-bird registration for The Inkjet Conference 2016 is now open online at www.theijc.ocm

HSEP News Bulletin

pic hsepBy Elaine Campling, the Product Safety Manager of Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems and chairman of the ESMA Health, Safety and Environmental Protection Committee.

The “new” European Commission is reporting strengthened commitment to ‘Better Regulation’, in achieving robust policy goals that are fit for purpose. The Commission is meeting the better regulation challenge through its Regulatory Fitness and Performance Programme (REFIT). The goal of the programme is to reduce regulatory burden, by cutting red tape and simplifying/improving the design and quality of legislation, so that policy objectives are achieved more efficiently. Under REFIT, the Commission is screening the entire stock of EU legislation ‘on an ongoing and systematic basis’ to identify weaknesses and establish corrective action.

European Union legislative process is complex and often misunderstood, despite legislation being key to the health, safety and welfare of global citizens and the sustainability of our global environment. To be effective, legislation should be proportionate and fit for purpose. Instead, it is often over complicated, over burdensome and subject to gold-plating, both in its introduction and transposition into secondary regulation via national implementation.

It is important to support ‘Better Regulation’ initiatives through the submission of informed comments/suggestions via consultation processes. ESMA’s Health, Safety and Environmental Protection (HSEP) Committee have made representation a number of key regulatory topics and will continue supporting ESMA members to achieve the goal of better regulation.

Read the full article “Achieving policy goals that are fit for purpose” by Elaine Campling in the November issue (4/2015) of “Specialist Printing Worldwide”. Visit ESMA website www.esma.com to find out about the next HSEP Committee meeting.

With ESMA to drupa, glasstec and Euroshop

pic drupadrupa 2016 – world’s largest show for print and cross media solutions takes place between 31 May and 10 June 2016 in Messe Düsseldorf, Germany. As a result of long-lasting cooperation we have been allocated two pavilions to be distributed among ESMA members. In the global pavilion for functional and industrial printing (hall 3) there are four islands of over 100 sqm each. You can still take advantage of a package deal starting from € 2 995 for joining the ESMA Lounge, as well as traditional exhibition space from 12 sqm upwards. In Hall 6, showcasing the innovation in printing and PEPSO (Printed Electronics Products and Solutions), ESMA offers either stands from 12 sqm upwards following shell scheme and PEPSO concept or customised design developed in consultation with the construction team.

Click here for more details >>

It is the fourth time ESMA organises its pavilion in Hall 12, dedicated to printing and glass decoration, during glasstec (20-23 September 2016, Düsseldorf). The pavilion is divided into three islands, each with the area of 120 sqm. The addition of a fourth island is still possible. Our offer includes floor space (starting from 12 sqm per exhibitor), construction, electricity and catering. Fimor, Isimat, KIWO, Machines Dubuit, Remco/Fotec, Saati, Sefar, SRS, Sun Chemical, Technigraf and Tiflex are already participating in ESMA pavilion on world’s leading glass trade fair.

Considering the success of ESMA’s Printed Interior Decoration conference and surface decorations in general, the Euroshop exhibition in Düsseldorf (5-9 March 2017) is becoming an ideal platform for promotion of print applications for shops, hotels, bars and restaurants. During the show ESMA will participate in setting up of a showcase booth, a mock-up of a shop or bar. In this context, printers and suppliers will get to present their capabilities in wall, floor and window decoration solutions. Furthermore, we welcome exhibitors to join our pavilion with stands from 12 to 30 sqm and are open to any construction suggestions.

Contact us at info@esma.com or call +32 16 894 353 to book your stand at drupa 2016, glasstec 2016 and Euroshop 2017.
